Most recent work

This is a story concept from my roommate about a boy and his little sister in a land of monsters that exists under the bed.

The crappy part is that the blown up image desaturates...  I have had that problem with a few of my drawings.  but the thumbnail is accurate.

This Cosmic Dance

Blend Shape Assignment from R Chad Ruger on Vimeo.

This is my most recent class assignment.  Blend Shapes are a way of animating in 3D.  The speech is from the cartoon "Adventure Time" and may not make sense to most of you.  It was written as a stand alone soliloquy and no context is necessary.

Finals and a New Year

So hopefully better work will follow than what you have seen in the previous posts.  So far, the year end analysis is as follows:

Storyboard = steamin poo
Illustration = poo
Computer Work = Progressing

You can't move forward if you are not honest with yourself but I hope you at least find some of these appealing.

I can't say how much I have loved this program though.  And what an awesome group of people I am in it with!

Storyboard Final

This is really bad but for history sake, here it is.

The story is titled "Perseverance".  It is about a snail who struggles to make it to the Ark before the floods overcome him.  This is just the first 30 seconds of a three minute short.

In case it wasn't readable, He wakes up and sees a bunch of animals marching past his home.  A mouse see's his confusion and explains to him that in order to avoid the storm he needs to go to the ark.  Thus motivation is set for the rest of the story.
